WEST PALM BEACH, FL. - On Thursday, March 19, 2009 Palm Healthcare Foundation will host an evening reception at the Palm Healthcare Pavilion for Nursing Distinction Award nominees and nominators. The event, which begins at 5:30 p.m., will give nominees the opportunity to mix and mingle with other healthcare professionals while being recognized for their hard work and dedication caring for patients and inspiring colleagues. Sponsor of this by invitation only event is Boca Raton Community Hospital.

The 2009 Palm Healthcare Foundation and WPTV News Channel 5 Nursing Celebration Dinner will be held on May 8, 2009 at The Breakers Palm Beach. The evening will include dinner, dancing and the recognition of eight nursing professionals from various ends of the nursing spectrum with the Palm Healthcare Foundation and The Palm Beach Post Nursing Distinction Awards. The  highlight of the evening is the announcement of the 2009 Nurse of the Year. Proceeds from the dinner fund nursing scholarships in Palm Beach County. Co-chairs are Susan Acocella and Silvia Stradi. Honorary Chair is Joey Bulfin. Ticket price is $125 for an individual and $2,500 for a corporate table. Major sponsors for the event are Vitas Innovative Hospice Care and Tenet.
