WEST PALM BEACH, FL - Palm Healthcare Foundation, Inc. (PHF) recently announced its first Commitment to Community Award recipients during its recent Healthcare Workforce Partnership (HWP) meeting at the Marriott Cityplace in West Palm Beach. The purpose of the meeting was to finalize HWP's strategic plan for 2005 and to recognize volunteers who have provided outstanding leadership and made significant contributions to the work of HWP.

"We are proud to recognize these community leaders who have given their time and talents to strengthen the healthcare professions, particularly nursing, in Palm Beach County," said Suzette Wexner, President, Palm Healthcare Foundation, Inc.
Those recognized with the Commitment to Community Award for their nursing education initiative and community support include: Brain Altschuler, Management Staff Developer, Bethesda Memorial Hospital; Terry Eggenberger, Program Director for Workforce and Educational Development, JFK Medical Center; Lois Gackenheimer, President, Academy for Practical Nursing and Health Occupations; Jacqueline Rogers, Dean of Health Sciences and Occupational Education, Palm Beach Community College; Ed Russo, Director of Classroom Programs, Junior Achievement of the Palm Beaches, Inc.; Alan Sadowsky, Ph.D., Vice President of Research and Training at Morse Geriatric Center located on the Marilyn and Stanley M. Katz Seniors Campus; Rose Sherman, Ed. D., Director Nursing Leadership Institute, Christine E. Lynn College of Nursing, Florida Atlantic University.

The mission of the HWP is to serve as a resource and facilitator to the South Florida region to ensure an adequate supply of highly educated and trained healthcare practitioners and faculty and to foster innovation in the study and practice of nursing and other healthcare professions. Palm Healthcare Foundation, Inc. is an independent community healthcare foundation dedicated to the good health of Palm Beach County.
